Gray Wade & The Allegroes

Gray Wade & The AllegroesI remember playing both Tamworth and Atherstone in the early 60's while I was a member of 'Gray Wade & The Allegroes' from Bedford. We were managed at that time by Richard Groom (also of Bedford).

The Allegroes' line-up was:

Gray Wade – Lead Vocals
Dave King - Lead Guitar
Clint Ashton - Rhythm Guitar
Johnny Holloway - Bass Guitar
Kevin O'Neil - Drums

I was subsequently in a band called 'The Half Dozen' also from Bedford, we played the California Ballroom Link to an external website. in Dunstable - February 6th 1965 and May 14th 1965 (supporting The Hollies). I am not sure if The Half Dozen actually played in Tamworth.
