At the time we had just released our first single "Wine & Roses" / "Fashion Toys" which had done so very well, climbing above both The Smiths & The Jesus & Mary Chain in the independent chart and reaching the lower reaches of the Top 50 of the national chart.

We were in the process of doing a couple of gigs where The Royal Family's frontman, singer and bluesy harmonica man Dave Smith was putting in a guest appearance on a handful of numbers, blowin' his harp!

The picture here shows the Dream Factory plus Dave Smith (front left).

The line up on this shot is (clockwise from top left):

Steve Quilton (drums - with shades on), Andy Codling (sax), Lloyd Barnett (guitar), Tim Goode (lead vocals), Dave Smith and Mark Mortimer (bass).

Mark Mortimer
