dunno if this has been suggested before but it would be a nice idea.
the scene saw a fair few resident geniuses and hardworking unsung heroes.
right across the genres there are those who served well, age will not wither them etc etc.

here are my suggestions, feel free to contribute

eddie armchair
sam holliday
steve adams
rikk quay
adam cukrowski
jeremy scarr
blaze bayley
paul speare
mick rutherford
andy dwyer
alex scott
mark maybury
john reeman
gary salmon
sean atkins

i've probably missed out some glaringly obvious candidates, knowing me
correct me !
i usually have to pay good money for that sort of thing (sniff)

Only just read your post. I am biased as you mentioned my name which is very flattering but, I think it would be a great idea.

A couple of names spring to mind for inclusion.

Can't remember his first name but Whitehead, who did the Tam Herald page, I think after Sam. He was a good guy who helped local bands a lot.

The second name is Kippa Wood. He was my co singer in Power and Glory and went on to be a DJ. He was a real showman.

Oh, and Dave 'Clem' Clemson and Phil Bates

Dave/Mick - a great idea. I'll try and put together a set of profiles - if here's one name that MUST be No.1 it's Sam Holliday - without a doubt.

By the way look out for 1988 History coming soon - it's taken me three months but it'll be worth it.

Oh.

Buttercup.
Duster Bennett

These also need referencing in any Tamworth Hall of Fame.

Duke Mann, although he didn't move to Tamworth until after his time with the Vikings?

Edwin Starr?

It would be great to organise a hall of fame to remember the years when Tamworth seemed to be the centre of the UK music sceen.

Wolfsbane and heavy metal Thunder both on the Tommy vance Friday Rock Show.

and Wolfsbane and Loose connection both going to the Gulf. Great days.

I would be up for donating something for it....
