i'll have to agree with the fender telecaster when it comes to electric instruments.
i had a right beauty,it was jet black and made a noise like a sodding road drill.
the more battered they are the better,i.e andy summers and the "lived in" look.
there's a story that quo had their truck broken into and francis rossi had his tele knicked.he appealed to the crims to return it for a reward and they did !.
with acoustics my takamine nylon has been with me for a while now and i love it.
i also bought an acoustic bass.what is it about them that turns me on ?. _________________ toodle pip |

That`d be The Calling,I think Rob.I remember you hooking up with them for a bit, altho` I`d forgotten about it till your post. What was left of the Cradle (myself,Jim Smith,Duane, and Niz) jammed with Chris(Groucott),trying to get something off the ground, Trouble was, it turned into a whisky drinking bout so we didn`t get much done!.
Funnily enough, I ended up jamming with Boney and Daz,your old rhythm section in about `94/`95.They`d just finished with A Tokin` Gesture, and I`d pretty much ended with Smothered (post Kingdom Of Summer). Did a few acid jazz/Hendrix`y/wah-wah a go-go instrumental tunes for a bit till Daz ended up leaving for a semi-pro(i think) band in Brum It was fun while it lasted though. |

Muz, as it's been a few years I reckon I can say this. Darren Mullett was, and maybe still is a fantastic drummer. Easily the best musician in VB and he should have turned Pro. On the other hand, Boney had to put in the practice hours. He was a good mate, but not the best half of our rhythm section. Sorry, but this is true!! And if Boney or Daz are reading this, yes, I would like to reform our band!!

| You`ll be lucky after that glowing report on Boney!. I know he`s pretty busy working up and down the country these days anyway, dunno about Daz,and last time I saw Chris he didn`t sound too keen. So you might have your work cut out mate. |

Chris didn't seem keen when I text him about it last year either. I must admit it would have been a good laugh, but without being able to track down Daz or Boney it's not happening! Looks like my contribution to Ed's re-union gig will be selling tickets or sweeping the floors!! |
