Evil or Very Mad Just been watching the NME/Shockwave awards on C4 and had to switch it off before I got into a total rage. No problem with the program, well presented etc by Lauren Lavern (Sunderland Girl, which is good), some good music, too. What's got me annoyed is the award for the best radio show. There were 4 R1 shows (including the moron Moyles) and one XFM show nominated. Why on earth were no BBC 6Music shows on the list? Anyone with any taste in music and/or an enthusiasm to listen to new bands or long forgotten obscure classics will love 6Music. Lammo is on there, plus Andrew Collins, Coe, Lard et al. Does anyone else enjoy this station as much as me or am I in the minority?

No, you're not alone. 6 Music is my radio station of choice and the only reason to buy a DAB radio (though it's better quality on freeview or satellite). Mr Jupitus, Mr Coe and Ms McGlynn have all benefited from my input to their shows.

Pete- Glad there's other people listen to it. What shows were you on? I've been a finalist on Heroes to Zeroes in 2005 and also been a "hit the decker" last year. Pity Vic McGlynn left, I thought her show was great...

I've spared the nation my own decidedly non-dulcet tones but have sent in loads of suggestions via email - there was a spell on the Jupitus show's debut album slot when it was all my suggestions (not that I got any credit). Mr Coe and Ms McGlynn are/were the most improved shows so Vic's replacement with Nemone is definitely a step backwards.

I'm still compiling a surf guitar inspired hit the decks for Gideon's show

Pete,
My "Hit the Deckers" selections were ;
60's) I Can See For Miles (The 'Oo)
70's) Non Stop Dancin' (The Jam)
80's) Give Me Sunshine (Love & Rockets)
90's) 1st choice was "Yes" by the Manics, which they banned, so had "Let Down" by Radiohead instead..
00's) All My Life (Foo Fighters).

Agree totally that the Coe show is good, as is AC. The John Holmes show on Saturday is brilliant though, even tho the way he's going they'll sack him! Moyles pretends to be controversial, but this show is the dog's T's! Laughing

Cheers...Rob.
