Cross the road and continue for 50 yards or so and on the corner of Moorgate we arrive at the location of what was St. John’s Youth Club. This was the breeding ground for many local bands including The Fretz, The Classified Ads, etc. and debut performances by such noted local names as Mark Mortimer and Donald Skinner. It was also, by the way, where Edward ian Armchair first attended school between 1966 and 1969.
